7 Habits That Could Radically Improve Your Life

Looking to increase your overall happiness and quality of life? If so, then you might think this will require drastic changes, but it doesn’t have to. By picking up a few small habits and making a few changes in your thinking, you’ll find that you can lead a much happier and more fulfilling life.

Set Realistic, Attainable Goals

All too often, people get dragged down when they set lofty goals that are either very difficult or downright impossible to obtain. While it’s always good to challenge yourself, it’s better to break up big goals into smaller, more manageable ones. So instead of setting a goal to lose 50 pounds, why not set goals to lose five pounds, followed by 10 pounds, and so on?

Pare Down Your Social Life

In a perfect world, all the people in your life would be beneficial to you—but this usually isn’t the case. Learn to identify the toxic people in your life who are negative influences or who simply bring your spirit down, and find ways to cut them out for your own sake.

Learn How to Say “No”

If you’re the type of person who feels obligated to say “yes” to every single commitment, you’re likely overwhelming yourself and stealing away precious “me” time. Start prioritizing yourself and stop feeling like you have to be everything to everyone. It’s okay to say “no” every once in awhile.

Cut Back on Screen Time

Spending time in front of your tablet or phone screen—especially right before bed or upon waking up—is a huge productivity killer and can prevent you from getting a restful night’s sleep. Start gradually eliminating screen time while you’re in bed until you’re able to cut it out completely.

Remind Yourself Who You Are

It’s easy to get away from ourselves sometimes. Make sure you take time for yourself by doing things that remind you of who you truly are. Whether this means dancing around your house to your favorite 90s throwback tunes or going for a nightly run, these activities can help you remain grounded and boost your happiness.

Learn to Appreciate the Present

Each day, take a moment to take in the things around you and make a list (either mentally or on paper) of the things you’re thankful for at this exact moment. This will help you learn to better appreciate what you have.

Take Time to Get Organized

A little organization can go a long way in reducing stress in your daily life. If you aren’t super organized already, take some time to develop and implement a system that will work for you! From investing in a life planner to better organizing your workspace, these little changes go a long way.

There you have it: seven simple habits that can drastically improve your life. Which ones will you implement first?
